Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) describes how and when LeoSight, Inc. (“LeoSight”) and its affiliates and partners collect, use, share, and protect user information. This Privacy Policy applies to all use of the LeoSight platform, websites, and software services, including mobile applications such as LeoCommand, LeoLink, LeoLoop, and Plate Capture (collectively, the “Service”). If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, do not access or use the Service.
LeoSight may update this Privacy Policy at any time. By continuing to use the Service after changes are posted, you agree to be bound by the updated Privacy Policy. You acknowledge that LeoSight may notify you of Privacy Policy updates by posting them on its website or within the apps and that LeoSight’s use of your information is governed by the version in effect at the time of use.
1. Definitions
For purposes of this Privacy Policy, the following terms have the following meanings:
Affiliate: Any company related to LeoSight through shared ownership or shared assets.
Cookie: A small text file stored on your device.
Partner: Any third party that provides services to LeoSight such as hosting, payment processing, or analytics.
Service: Access to the LeoSight software suite, including desktop, web, and mobile applications.
Software: The LeoSight software platform, including all interfaces (desktop, web, mobile), server-side components, APIs, and documentation.
User Information: Includes, but is not limited to:
(a) Log data such as IP address, browser type, OS, referring URL, pages visited, geolocation, mobile carrier, and device/application IDs.
(b) Personal files you upload or access (“User Data”).
(c) Information provided by you including login credentials, email address, contact details, and communication records.
(d) Payment Information such as credit card details and billing address.
(e) Communications between users on the Service.
(f) Login credentials for third-party services accessed through the Service.
(g) Information collected via mobile device permissions, such as camera, microphone, push notifications, contacts, or photo library access, when required to provide app functionality.
(h) Device identifiers (such as Apple’s IDFA or Google’s GAID) used for security, analytics, and app performance monitoring.
(i) Diagnostic and crash log data automatically collected to maintain app performance.
2. Use
LeoSight may collect, process, and use User Information to:
Help you access your data after signing in.
Remember login credentials for convenience.
Process payments securely.
Personalize content and experience.
Improve the performance of the Software and develop new features.
Monitor usage patterns, device metrics, and platform health.
Enforce compliance with LeoSight’s Terms of Service and protect intellectual property.
Enable app-specific features, such as messaging in LeoLink and LeoLoop, license plate capture and lookup in Plate Capture, or location-based functionality when enabled by the user.
Send push notifications or in-app alerts related to account activity, security, or product updates (which you may manage through device settings).
Legal basis: Your consent and LeoSight’s legitimate interests in providing and securing the Service, operating its business, and protecting against misuse.
Ownership: LeoSight does not claim ownership of User Data. However, by using the Service, you grant LeoSight a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable, worldwide license to use User Data as necessary to provide the Service in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
3. Sharing and Disclosure
LeoSight may share User Information with its Affiliates and Partners, subject to the limitations outlined in this Policy. Payment Information is only shared with payment processors for transaction processing and fraud prevention. LeoSight will never sell User Information for marketing purposes.
LeoSight may disclose User Information if required by law, to address security or technical issues, protect individual safety, or protect its rights or property.
LeoSight uses Google Analytics. Details on how Google processes data can be found at: www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners
LeoSight may also use third-party mobile SDKs for analytics, crash reporting, and mapping services (e.g., Firebase, Crashlytics, Google Maps, or Apple Maps). These third parties may collect device and usage data to help us operate and improve the apps.
LeoSight does not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals from user browsers.
4. Cookies and Mobile Technologies
LeoSight uses Cookies to enhance user experience and recognize returning visitors. You may refuse or delete Cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit access to certain Service features.
In mobile apps, LeoSight may also use similar technologies (such as device identifiers and local storage) to authenticate users, remember preferences, deliver notifications, and improve app performance.
5. Storage and Protection
User Information may be stored in the U.S. or other jurisdictions where LeoSight, its Affiliates, or Partners operate. LeoSight uses commercially reasonable safeguards to protect User Information and may require identity verification before account access is granted.
Where agency requirements or applicable law mandate retention periods, LeoSight will comply with those requirements.
6. Updating User Information
You may update or delete User Information or deactivate your account via your LeoSight settings. Following deactivation, LeoSight may retain certain data for backup, audit, or legal purposes. Where consent is the legal basis for use of your data, you may withdraw it at any time by contacting LeoSight.
App users may also manage permissions (e.g., location, notifications, camera access) through their device settings. Restricting permissions may limit certain app functionality.
7. Children’s Privacy
LeoSight does not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 16. If such information is discovered, it will be deleted. The Service is not directed at children under 16.
For U.S. users: LeoSight does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13, in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
