Position Overview:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for driving business growth by identifying new market opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, and fostering long-term business partnerships. This role involves understanding market trends, conducting competitive analysis, and leading the sales process from prospecting to closing deals. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a deep understanding of the industry, and the ability to generate new business revenue streams.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Growth: Identify and target new business opportunities, markets, and clients to drive growth and meet sales objectives.
Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, ensuring client satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
Market Research & Analysis: Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs. Use this data to inform strategy and decision-making.
Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to increase revenue, expand the client base, and meet or exceed targets.
Lead Generation & Prospecting: Identify and qualify potential leads through networking, cold-calling, referrals, and attending industry events.
Proposal Development: Prepare and deliver compelling business proposals and presentations tailored to client needs and objectives.
Negotiation & Closing: Lead negotiations with potential clients, working to close business deals and secure contracts.
Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, product, and operations to align business development efforts with company goals.
Reporting: Track sales metrics, monitor progress against targets, and report regularly to senior management on performance and results.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, criminal justice, technology or another relevant field (MBA is a plus). A combination of an educational degree(s) and work experience may be considered.
Executive or Senior Command Staff level law enforcement experience preferred.
Graduate from the FBINAA preferred.
Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Ability to build relationships and influence decision-makers at all levels.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically.
Proficient in software commonly used for sales and CRM, including but not limited to Google Workspace, HubSpot, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to travel up to 60 percent of the time, including airline travel and overnight trips.
Ability to attend meetings in person with potential clients, customers and setting up for trade shows and events.
Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds, including bending over and kneeling to set up tables and monitors, computers and screens, and sitting and standing for long periods of time.
Must be able to pass a background check.

Position Overview
The Business Development Manager (BDM) for Fire & Emergency Management is responsible for driving growth in the fire services, emergency management, and all-hazards response markets. This role focuses on identifying new opportunities, building meaningful relationships with senior decision-makers, and guiding agencies through the process of adopting unified real-time operations technology. The ideal candidate is a recognized subject-matter expert with deep operational experience in fire command, emergency management leadership, incident management, and multi-agency coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth: Identify and target new opportunities, agencies, and markets within fire services and emergency management to drive adoption of LeoSight and meet sales objectives.
Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with Fire Chiefs, Deputy/Assistant Chiefs, Battalion Chiefs, Emergency Managers, and other senior command stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
Market Research & Analysis: Assess industry trends, standards (NFPA, NIMS, ICS), technology landscapes, and operational challenges to inform strategy and positioning.
Sales Strategy: Develop and execute segment-specific strategies that expand LeoSight’s footprint across fire departments, emergency management offices, and all-hazards response organizations.
Lead Generation & Prospecting: Source and qualify leads through networking, conference attendance, vendor partnerships, referrals, and outreach into state/local EM networks.
Proposal Development: Prepare tailored proposals and presentations that address operational needs around command, situational awareness, mutual aid, and real-time coordination.
Negotiation & Closing: Lead contract negotiations and guide agencies through procurement processes, grant pathways, and multi-jurisdiction deployments.
Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (sales, marketing, product, and operations) to ensure alignment, customer success, and segment-specific product insights.
Reporting: Track pipeline progress, sales metrics, and forecast accuracy, reporting regularly to senior leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, fire science, business, marketing, technology, criminal justice, or a related field (MBA a plus). Equivalent experience considered.
Executive-level or senior command experience in fire services or emergency management (Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, Battalion Chief, Emergency Manager/Director preferred).
Graduate from Senior Fire Management and ICS, NIMS Training Courses.
Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Ability to build relationships and influence decision-makers at all levels.
Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient with modern productivity and CRM tools (Google Workspace, HubSpot, Microsoft Office Suite).
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to travel up to 60%, including overnight travel.
Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds for event and demo setup (tables, monitors, screens).
Must be able to pass a background check.
